COVID-19 has clearly shown that food security is a national priority. As a small island, we import almost all of our food. Having local farms (like the one in this video) supply part of the food we eat strengthens our food security. It makes us less reliant on food imports, and also buffers us against supply disruptions.
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is working with stakeholders to transform Lim Chu Kang into Singapore’s core agri-food hub, and bring us closer to our “30 by 30” goal — producing 30% of our nutritional needs locally by 2030. We can all help shape our food story together.
